Melinda Hall M.D. is the founder and medical director of The Menopause Center. She is an expert in Menopause Management and Bio-Identical Hormonal Therapy (BHRT). She is also is considered a local expert in Vulva Dermatology and Vulva Disorders.

Being a Louisiana native, Dr. Hall received her Medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center of New Orleans in 1981. After completing her medical degree, she did a general internship at LSU Charity Hospital of New Orleans, with a special interest in women’s health care. Dr. Hall then moved to the Washington DC area to continue her training at the George Washington University Medical Center with a one year residency program in pain management. She then completed an additional three year residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University Medical Center, being awarded numerous honors during her residency program, including being distinguished as the Administrative Chief OB-GYN Resident.

Dr. Hall has been on the Active Staff at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for her entire career and has held various appointments and faculty teaching positions at both George Washington University Medical teaching staff and on the Virginia Commonwealth University medical teaching staff. As a relentless advocate for women’s health, she limited her practice to gynecology without obstetrics for the majority of her career.

Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology was obtained in 1989, with yearly board re-certification as is required by her specialty boards. As an extension of her interest, The North American Menopause Society awarded Dr. Hall the distinction of  Credentialed Menopause Practitioner continually since 2007.  She earned certification in Advanced Metabolic Endocrinology from A4M ant the Metabolic Institute, the preeminent society for Integrative Medicine, and the study of bio-identical hormonal therapy in 2016.

As a distinguished member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disorders- the marquee medical society devoted to the treatment of vulvovaginal disorders and sexual pain, Dr. Hall has developed an active part of her practice in treating women with these disorders. She is one of only a handful of physicians in this area who has expertise in correctly diagnosing and treating resistant or unusual vulvar conditions, such as lichen sclerosus of the vulva.

Dr. Hall has become the local specialist in BHRT for women, and one of few gynecologists in the area trained and experienced in this method. She feels strongly that the doctor who prescribes hormonal therapy should be able to treat any side effects or problems that may occur, and this can only happen if your doctor is a gynecologist. Her entire career has been dedicated to women’s health and hormonal replacement therapy has always been a large part of her practice.

At the heart of her practice, however, is Dr. Hall’s dedication to each patient who walks through her door. Her one-on-one consultations with each patient are focused on really listening and understanding your needs and uncovering what has changed specifically about your life and lifestyle, rather than simply making assessments based on lab values or a standard list of symptoms. With her tailored approach to practicing medicine, Dr. Hall delivers real, workable health solutions to her patients.

As an integrated gynecologist, Dr. Hall will recommend lifestyle modifications, weight management solutions, and supplements as indicated for your specific needs. Dr. Hall offers testosterone pellets as a long-acting method of treating a decrease in libido. Each patient’s symptoms are unique and each patient’s path to optimization is unique.

With the help of Dr. Hall, you can experience the happier, healthier, higher quality of life you have always dreamed of but never thought possible.
